What's that saying - all things old are new again? Well, here's an example of something really old - as far back as 27 B.C. - coming back in vogue.

This particular cameo is a treasure I mined from my late grandmother's jewelry box. It's a brooch that I "repurposed" as a necklace and I love it. When I discovered it over a year ago, I had no particular notions about trends or comebacks - only that I have fond memories of her wearing it.

Imagine my surprise when I came across this article - Cue the Cameo: A centuries-old royal favorite returns to center stage - WSJ Magazine March 2011. The only thing more surprising than this "comeback" is the price tag on these trinkets. Wow.

Lest you think I've suddenly stumbled upon a royal size sum to make such a purchase, I should mention that the only thing "precious" about this one is it belonged to my grandmother.

The point I want to make is this - look for things that you love, things that have soul and meaning, mix up the intended use a bit and in that you might find something unique - for a minute anyway.
